Can S4 engine go in A4?

why does the car have to be from japan to be lego'd? Im running a AEG crank. Thats right, i run a 2.slow VW crank with stock replacement rods (scats) and some custom pistons (easily ordered) from wisco. Also people have used 2.0 blocks with 1.8t parts and heads and even tdi blocks with 20v heads. The VW/Audi engines are just as intergrated as the next company, just we dont have people like Hasport to make custom mounts and everything to make it a cake walk like they do for honda.

I'm poking around here thinking about buying an Audi myself, and one concern is the quality of the community I'd be joining in the process. That said, whyis your reaction a polar opposite from the E46'ers response to a similar idea there?

don't listen to everyone bashing you, yes it will work, but they are right for the work the engine isn't worth it. go for a VR6T swap. it'll be much cheaper and have a better result. go to www.034motorsport.com they have already completed one A4 B5 VR6T and you can get an estimate for for how you will spend on parts ECU ect. my 2 cents. if you want to though and have the ***** to complete the swap please post lots of pictures and do a write up to make a point.
Here's a video of an A4 with the VR6T swap on the dyno. Pulled 370whp at 15psi. Pretty good result
