Default Car always thinks front doors are open - help!

Can someone tell me how to fix the doors of my 2001 Audi A4, so that it does not think the doors are always open?

i'm not sure, just a guess. I had this happen with my 200tq . there is a little button that gets depressed when you shut the door. I shut mine too hard and broke the button. look around on the edge for it and either remove and replace, or fix the wiring/button

I guess the button that actually senses the door being open or closed is a microswitch inside the door lock/latch mechanism. I called the Audi dealership near me, and they said the only way to fix it was to replace the door lock control module. However I don't want to spend $120 on each door, plus $75/hr for something that will take 2 hrs per door to do. If I could somehow get the part number for the item, so I could find a cheaper alternative for a part or if someone knew a way to fix the existing mechanism, that would be much appreciated info.
