So my CEL came on tonight while driving into work. I used the scan tool that I have (OBD 2) and plugged it in and turned the engine on like the instructions say.

When I press the link button, it says READ then after a few seconds, says ERR (error).

Am I doing something wrong?

Also tried a different one at advanced auto parts today and it still could not link.
