Default Check Engine Light is Flashing!!!

Damn! I was coming home from work yesterday and notice that my Check Engine Light
was flashing for 30 to 40 seconds and then stops. I still drove my car home and I know
I should not but I had to. Took the car to autozone and they diagnos the code and it came
with code 1128. Something about manufacture error code and I suppose I have to take
it to Audi dealer to check it out.

I already installed the new intercooler and nothing changed so I'm assuming something
else that has to with the air and fuel mixture. Anybody has that problem before????

Just a reminder, my A4 is not quattro and it now has 44K miles. Bought it
at 41K, oil is changed at 43,700 miles. Haven't changed the ail filter and
sparks yet... plan on doing it next few weeks.

Code P1128 is system too lean. Possible causes are fuel pressure, MAF sensor, air leak in the intake manifold or IC piping, bad o2 sensor(s) or clogged injector. The first place I would look is at the intake for a leak. When I purchased both my A4 and A6 they had alot of clamps loose, over 12 between both vehicles.

Yuck, please don't drive after a blinking CEL next time! Could have caused some damage.

Hey Jestnomen, what would you suggested I do first? Would that be the 02 sensor going out?
or Fuel filter or pump? I'm gonna check on the vac hose to make sure all are tight but I was
wondering, how many are there on the intake manifold?

First step is to go to the dealer and buy a few feet of vacuum hose. Replace all of them that you can find. It's the cheapest fix and most common problem.
