I have newb question. Only had my 98 2.8L A4 for about a week and a half so I'm not even sure something is def wrong.. Got in today (first cold day of the year) and set my temp to 75 auto. When i go to adjust the fans with the manual controls the "auto" label remains on the left lcd even though the man label comes up on the right. I can't get it to stop saying auto unless I shut it all the way off, then come back on. So basically it always says auto once I hit it even though the manual controls work fine. I don't think it was doing this when I first got it. Why is this happening?

 

try hitting the vent controls, that usually turns off the auto function.

 

im in the same situation excpet this is my first winter with this car. just play with it a little bit. u'll get the hang of it.

I just found out that if you hold down the auto button for about 5 seconds it syncs both sides of the dual climate control. So if you change one side the other side changes with it. I had no idea of this feature. Previous to this I would change one and then change the other to the temp of the drivers side. I always wondered if there was a setting for this...now I know there is!
