clutch engagment problem - rode clutch higher revs
yes that glaze idea sounds like could be it, obviously riding clutch not good and I should get better at not ridin it. But it's just that it seemed to happen so easily, seems others cars I've driven if you rev and ride the clutch that much when take off it never made the clutch become inoprative & at absolute most you might smell the clutch a bit.
I'll try that 5th gear thing soon too

You probably glazed the clutch, which can make it slip more than usual for a short while until the glazed material wears off, then it should return to normal. But if it slips with your foot completely off it (test by flooring it in 5th gear, FOOT OFF THE CLUTCH and see if it revs up or just bogs), you need a new clutch.

Ok nm, so your actually driving when you do this? And you just mash 5th, alright.
When driving, say around 30 mph, put it in 5th, and let off the clutch and floor it as soon as it engages. If it bogs, the clutch is ok. If it revs up, the clutch is toast.
You could also do it from a stop, but you'll stall the engine if the clutch is good.
