Default coolant problem

i was checking my fluids today on my 2002 A4 and i noticed that my coolant isn't the normal pinkish color of the G12. no i havent mixed any other coolant in with it.I have had this problem before with other cars and it turned out bad (blown head gasket's). So my guess is that some other type of fluid, oil ect... got mixed in some how or maybe it just needs to be flushed?. I only have 40k on the car so im hoping its noting serious and it just needs to be flushed. Any thought guys?

If the oil on your dipstick looks good then I bet your head gasket is ok. Flush it and see what hapepns.

What color is it now? Is the level good for the engine oil?
Does the engine run well? Do you have a CEL?

Maybe someone else added some regular anti-freeze? (for example, you went to jiffy-lube for an oil change and they added the wrong coolant while checking fluids). I would flush the system as soon as possible. If it turns brown again, then you have some other problem.

Ah don't worry about it, mine is brown as all hell in my car and doesn't have any problems,
the coolant just tends to get a rust like color if its not driven a lot.
