I recently bought an O2 A4 1.8T. For some reason the cruise control doesn't work. I've combed all the fuses and they are fine. The cruise light doesn't even show up on start up. Any thoughts on what the problem could be? I appreciate the help.

 

Cruise on my '99 A4 1.8T is broken, too. When my dad had the car, he paid the dealer for an hours worth of labor to find the problem. I don't know if they actually put forth effort or not, but they didn't find the problem.

 

thats not uncommon in audis .. mine doesnt work either... usually the cruise control stalk goes bad.. i think

 

If your fuses are fine, the dealer is your best bet on that one. Someone with a VAG might be able to help you out, and check that system. Computer stuff is tricky, best left to the dealer to fix...

 

do a search, this is a common prob. first try using an electrical cleaner on the switch.

 

The cruise on the 00 and newer vehicles is a function of the ecm. So the only part that can really fail is the switch.
