dissapointment on audi(tiptronic)
its not actually a belt persay but a clutch and it has a forward and reverse sometimes they need adjustment but I dont have the data on automatics soill look around and see if I can find some, most mechanics I know use the term belt on the automatic because they are not like a clutch plate and they are made of the same stuff ,
edit: I suppose you could call it a band but that shows my ignorance with automatics because I dont work much on them

tiptronic switch is integrated in printed circuit in selector mechanism cover
q
tiptronic switch consists of 3Hall sensors actuated by a magnet on the transverse slide of the sliding cover.
q
If malfunctions occur in the tiptronic switch -F189-, first check that the magnet on the transverse slide of the sliding cover is secured properly. If necessary, renew sliding cover. The printed circuit should only be renewed after the wiring has been checked.

I'm at 185K miles and my B5 tip is going strong with an APR 93 octane chip for the last 100K.
I did install the GIAC tip chip 40-60K ago. It made a real difference in the shift lag times.

...and btw - a B5 A4 tip tranny (ZF 5HP19FL/A) cannot hold 300 hp. It has an engine torque rating of 230 ft.lbs (310NM) and a max power rating of 228 HP (230PS) at 5500RPM.
