Doublecheck my Mechanic
I am new to this thread and I just wanted to check and see if what I was charged for my audi to get serviced was reasonable. I took it in originally because it was making a creaking noise at slow speeds taking corners. My trusted mechanic had told me that the control arm bushings were busted on the front and also my back shocks were leaking and the front shocks were weak. Nothing at ever been replaced in the cars 110,000 life. I could have left the front ones alone but he said it would be no charge to install them since he had to do the control arms as well.
Anyways I trust this guy and this is the most I have ever spent on this car. I thought about selling it but decided to repair this instead. I just wanted to get some people's opinion on if this price was reasonable considering the amount of work. Like i said earlier, this guy is very honest and I don't think he is screwing me.
Also, I know that I could have saved a bunch of money to do all this myself but I don't have the technical knowledge or the space/garage to be able to do it.

A quick look on ECS Tuning shows the shock and struts to be way over priced. Take a look and see for yourself. Ask him where he is getting his parts and ask if you can provide parts on your own. Then you know exactly what you are getting.
Control arm kits as well. Listed from $319 up to $1493 depending on what level of performance you want.
Labor seems ok except that you getting charged an hour to put in a battery that takes 5 minutes and any place else you buy it will put it in for free.
Good luck!
