Default Engine question...

Are the pistons the same in the 30V 2.8 as in the 3.0? Or, does anyone know where to find forged internals for the 3.0 motor?

I don't think they would be the same - I don't know for sure but......

Also - why would you need to upgrade the internals - even a PES G3 doesn't need that. Maybe thats why you can't find any - nobody needs them

You're right, the PES g3 doesn't need that. But, were I to fab my own setup with a larger s/c, I'd probably need to at least reduce compression, if not get forged pistons and rods.

How about sell that 3.0 andbuy a 1.8T/2.0T. Youll spend a lot less time and money for equal or better gains.

the pistons are diff but the head is the same. i personally like turbos better so if u swap the heads and throw a couple turbos on there ur golden even without internals

The heads aren't even close to the same. The 3.0L engine is so different from the 2.8L its not even funny. The 3.0L engine is a PITA to work on and makes decent power the way it is. Leave it stock or get another car IMHO.
