fitting abs sensor
can anyone offer advise.
I have damaged the front offside sensor .(Having taken off the hub to have a wheel bearing fitted.)
The ABS light is now on!
The sensor is very difficult to remove from hub and also I was wondering where the cable goes too throught the wheel arch?
Any help would be appreciated.

There is a single screw holding the sensor to the spindle. Remove that, and the sensor should come out. It will be tough to pull out, especially if you lift in an area with lots of salted road.
It helps to use a penetrating oil like PB Blaster.

no screw on my A4 1998 TDI
I have the job completed.
The connection was easily found through the wheel arch

glad you got it sorted ABS is a pain
edit: in most cases you have to knock the old sensor out after undoing the 10mm bolt because it rots in the hole so you can almost guarantee it will be damaged on removal, and all you had to do was follow the wiring to find the connection
