my car sort of flutters/sputters too. but I have a Bailey DV and it's only about 3 months old so I don't think it's that. Except unlike fanatic.. i feel it and don't really hear it. And i only feel it when i'm around 5 psi, just gets kinda jerky. I'm guessing it's a boost leak, gotta check it out.

Okay, yeah i was thinkin it was a bad dv. It happens when i get on the gas and am reving through 1st and second. For comparison, it sounds kinda like if you spun the jeopardy wheel on tv. As my rpms increase, the speed of the sputtering increases. I also have experienced an early let off of boost, like a slip in power which has to be a dv problem. I think i will go ahead and change the dv to a 710n. Any other suggestions are welcome! thanks guys

ya even if you dont have a dv problem/boost leak, switching to the 710n is wise.
Not sure which DV is used on a b6 though.

ORIGINAL: BadLuckAudi

yea i think mines toast now, which spring is the stiffest to hold the most boost for a froge 007 red??
which way do you have yours installed?? where the long end of the forge is plumbed into the intercooler? or the short end into the intercooler?

i had the short end of the forge plumbed into the intercooler originally and finally flipped it .. and now car runs great..

wait, since the sound hes hearing speeds up as he goes through the rpms doesnt that mean it would be something else, wouldnt the busted dv just make the sound continuously if it was busted and not speed up as the rpms went up... id think that once it was underboost it would flutter but not speed up continuously as he goes throu rpms

Hi,

Imight have something similar on my Audi - flutter noise at speed, putter noise like hole in exhaust sound at low revs when in car park and power drops out seemingly early, and also some surging on off on power when WOT at 85 km/h in 4th gear.

went to APR they said could be boost leak, dv, They have a smoke machine to find leaks at my local APR, Audi mechanic could help too- havent had car long want to get checked out.

Yeah what did the Audi techs say about it?

Other than, of course, bend over and grab your toes....
