Default front wheel bearings

I saw the write up but what I would like to know is:

1) Is there another method without using a hub tamer like device to remove the hub?

2) Can I get away with removing the whole spindle assembly, pressing out the old and pressing in the new without doing an alignment after?

1997TQM A4 160k

Thanks,
Fritz

you have to remove all components that deal with alignment - so unless you are a god and can keep a nut from spinning, your going to have to get an alignment.

Well in theory the spindle doesn't really affect the alignment in any way. As long as you don't twist the tie rod end, or un-bolt the subframe you shouldn't need to align the car. Now on a car like a mitsubishi taking off the spindle will mess up the caster and camber. Caster isn't adjustable on an audi, and the camber won't move unless the subframe is un-bolted so you should be ok.

Default My car sucks

I need some advice / help.......... I have a 2004 Audi A4 Quattro and over the past two months my car has started making a horrible grinding, clunking noise when I stop, slow down or turn a bend. It's SO loud and embarrassing! I feel like I'm truly driving a hooptie! Any idea what the prob could be?

Well if it only does it when applying the brakes, i would have the front brakes inspected.
