1997 A4 Front Wheel Bearings
My mechanic just replaced buth my front wheel bearings about a few months ago. The car ran so much better for a few weeks after that, but started making the same noises again. Has anyone had the same issue where the bearing replacement didn't "take" the first time? Is this a common occurrence?
the mechanic who replaced your wheel bearings shouid have told you to come back after a month or so . and retightened them once they were bedded in this is pritty common with new bearings and only takes ten minutes or so to nip them back up
I asked him about the bearings, he said if that was it, he would replace for free...
I just got off the phone with him... He tells me it's not the bearings. He thinks it might be the transmission? Would that have anything to do with it? The vibration is only coming from the passenger side front wheel?....

get hold of the front while car is parked one hand on each side grip the back of the wheel with your fingers and pull and push if there is any movement or slackness the wheel bearing needs replacing cant understand why he has replaced the bearings if he knew they were not the problem sounds as thou he is making excuses to get out of not doing the job correctly ask him why they were not nipped up after a month or so
