Default Giac Chip Question

hey there, i tried searching for this but to no avail. Im in Canada and dont have a GIAC dealer close by but i picked a chip in the classified, because i knew i could return it. The problem is there are a few places to install it and i did the research and found a reputable shop. I checked the chip for compatibility for my car. (1998 A4 1.8T Trip) The places i went to, all of them said the same thing, they dont mind installing it but, from there knowledge they thought all 98 and up A4's use "EPROMS" or something. They said they are wiling to installing the chip but do not know the results. I have a few pics at the bottom if someone can tell me if they know its compatabile or if its a knockoff or something, would be much appreciated. Also the installer said he has a few concerns, hes usually doing BOSCH, Superchips, and some german car tuner, not for audi's but in general. He said he was worried not knowing any background on GIAC personally. I was hoping if someone could tell some differences from stock to chipped, Boost pressure difference, timing difference, some sort of specs would be appreciated, and he also asked if there are any issues as in where i need to install anything else other than a DV. Any differences in climate or elevation, bought the chip from a colder climate. thanks sorry if this is stupid i just have no idea whats going on i just wanted a chip.

you might want to get a step colder spark plugs sometime depending on how much power you gain
