I'm not sure, but if it is the same electronic DV as what the MkV GTIuses Forge makes one. It works fine and holds boost well against chip tuning. Read up on the Mkv GTI forums. Definately wait for the tuningdeal to come out. Iwaited my 1.8T Passat chipped for the same reason.
^^+1, I was so anxious on getting chipped, I made a mistake by not waiting on the sale. I could've saved some $$$

I've got about 3 weeks. No big deal when I've already waited 3 months. + I'll save at least $150.

you could check the classifieds, i picked up the apr chipped ecu for 300, vs just programming for 500

i could literally turn out and sell my stock ecu to someone that doesn't wanna be without their ecu while they get tunned

you might also hit some junk yards and check out ecu's for tunning company stickers

I would, but the APR does it is through a software upload. They don't switch out, or add an ECU. They call it, Direct Port Programming.

just got off the phone with the APR dealer. It seems that guys with B7's that have switched DV's have had more problems than guys who have not. Guys who have swtiched have actually gone back to stock after problems with the after market.

Also, I was going to do this soon, but APR does a sale around thanksgiving. You buy the chip and you get one program free, or you buy the chip + one program and then you get all the others for free. I'm going to wait, and save my money.
All lies fabricated by whoever your were talking too. They will change their opinion once they have their replacement on the market.

We are the only company that offers a complete solution for the 2.0 FSI cars that retains full ECU contrl of the valve with zero codes. We CANNOT make them fast enough to meet demand. We have 1000s of units sold since the products release about 5 months ago. We also offer a 100% money back guarantee on everything that we make and we make that well known to everyone. All said and done we have written refunds for less than 10 of these units. Not indicitive of a rash of problems. Actually, come to think of it, the only time there is any talk of our part being anything but amazing it seems to originate from the same source...

It seems there are a couple of different versions of the OEM DV as well. Purems.com is selling an "updated F" version that's supposed to be improved.

Thanks Patty! I guess I have to save up a little more $$ now than I thought. When I get the chip, I want to do it right. Not half a$$ed. I was thinking about getting it around thanksgiving, but now it'll prob have to wait until around Christmas. That's when APR has their sales (Tgiving or Xmas) Basically you pay for one program and get the rest for free!

I have the money for the chip. I need to save up for the DV and for a boost gauge. All in all, the engine upgrade will cost about 1100 or so. Yikes.
