Yeah, just use a dremel. The sawzall is very effective, but it can be imprecise. Use the dremel and you can get the exact cut you want. The fender you want to cut is about 1/16" thick.
Yeah, that's all you need for wiring. You connect those wires to the ones from the original headlight plug, and connect the plug to the new headlight.
