I'm not sure he would have suffered brake fade after just 200ft. Have you checked brake fluid? Normally brake fade is down to the fluid boiling over, and all the air in the fluid making brakes feel squishy. It could be that. They normally have to get pretty friggin hot to fade like that.
Ah, my comment shoulda been made using the sarcasm font. Grouse is taking the next step, by immortilizing my jab at apg.

Haha i didnt say i was tsopping from 5 i was stopping from around 15-20 and i hit at 5, it was kinda a blind turn so i just didnt see them in time. If i had seen them a second sooner, if i had better brakes, if i didnt have chrome rims i dont think i would have hit but im not making excuses the bottom line is i did. Maybe i just have slow relexes? who knows and i dont think it mattered.

your bumper just popped off. there will be no repairs needed, just pop it back in the clips.

Ok so heres what the mechanic found. The tie rods were completly shot, causing a lil vibration. The brakes were at around 3% and needed new pads and rotors, so i put performance rotors on (crossed drilled) and perfromance pads. Also the tire on the inner sidewall was punctured casuing the rest of the vibration. He said b/c of the stiff sidewalls thats why it didnt look like it was flat.

The mechanic said that since my brakes were so low thats why it faded so much. Its still my fault for the rear end but he said from what i told him teh only way to stop in time would have been with the praking brake to help.

I still think i should go to skip barber driving school and get to be a better drive. Accident avoidance, thresold braking, emergency lane change and skid pad would all help me alot. Plus i get to drive a Viper SRT10

Mechanics normally try to get you on as much as they can. Tie RODS: JOKE to replace. i mean a JOKE. brake pads: JOKE!!!, rotors: JOKE!. I highly doubt you need new rotors. If anything, go back to stock rotors. you don't need performance rotors at all. The only time you really need them is for HARD A$$ DRIVING, and stockers will work fine for that.
IMHO. goto 12.3 in. rotors. (A8) and get the tt carriers. the whole setup w/ pads is about 300 bucks. you will have MUCH better stopping power with much less fade.. do the tie rods yourself. they are very simple. if you want to keep the same alignment just take the old ones out and mark them with chalk or something before you remove them , just match up the threads on the old ones to the new ones before you put them back on(count the threads on each or measure them carefully) . they just screw in. those performance rotors just EAT your pads alive. Out gassing isn't a big issue unless you have built up MAN heat in those rotors so don't worry about performance rotors anymore. I know they look really hot, but they just cost more and don't have a big enough performance gain. If you already got them ,oh well. next time do the A8 upgrade. MUCH BETTER!!
with all those braking upgrades, did you get performance fluid?????

P.M. me if you want distributor prices on brake parts. I live about 30 mins from Euclid Foreign motors, the same people ECS gets their brake parts from....

well heres what i have to say. i went and checked the pads pratically gone. The rotors were messed up, The performance ones were the only ones in stock and 7 bucks more. The pads go woth the new rotors. And u say heavy braking. perhaps when trying to avoid an accident? Hmm that weird i think i just had one, prolly should do anything to help! All fluid is teh same performance fluids dowsnt do anything. I could install these but i dont have the time right now to do it. I am doing a ton of stff daily for the rest of the month so i needed them to do them. PLus this is a mechanic i personally know. Its not a dealer.

im not knockin on ya or anyhthing. just making recommendations so you don't spend alot of money and get the best performance for your buck. next time you need to get rotors and pads, upgrade to the a8 rotors, tt carriers, and pads. and YES , performance fluid does a TON! if you drive your car hard and want performance while driving hard, fluid makes a HUGE difference. it won't boil as fast, causing terriblt, horrible fade . I'm sure you can find a chart which will show you the proper fluid to get.
I still run stock fluid, but i'm trying to keep my driving record clean ...[8D]
