Obviously the lower the better. If you have more money you'll get a car w/ lower miles. Its not rocket science

hahahahahhha true flyinb5. i would be cautious when buying a car with more than 70k. this doesnt mean dont buy a car with 90k on it this just means have it throuly checked out before considering the purchace.

^^Yep. If you have a firm spending limit, you'd be better off looking at all A4s that fall under that cap instead of a specific model year that you think should cost a certain amount.

Things to check for.

Water Pump
T-Belt
Control arms
struts
tierods
Any leaks
Ac work
sunroof work
any electrical issues

ALso no mods so if u just wanna drive around point a to point be ok great. if u wanna mod get 1.8T

Make sure u test drive car. listen make sure gears are ok. and that the cats are coughing.

How would you suggest finding out if the struts tierods are ok. Is there anything paticular that will stand out to show they are not ok?

Struts you should be able to bounce on the front/back of the car and the instant you stop bouncing, it should stop bouncing.

Tierods grab um, they should be tight. Also look at them. Chunks of the bushing missing, damaged, etc. is bad. They should be in good condition and well lubed. And tight.
