Hi, I have searched through the forum and read threads with similar problems but nothing seems to work.
My mechanic has told me to scrap my 2005 A4 Convertible (1.8 automatic) and buy another car as he cant figure the problem out.
I only have 58k miles on it and the car is immaculate apart from this MASSIVE problem!
I have an electrical mechanic coming out in 2 days to check the electrics but my gut tells me its something else!! HELP!!

• SYMPTOMS:

1. Car always starts initially.
2. I drive for 5-15 mins
3. Temperature gauge reads normal
4. I feel a slight hiccup
5. Car stops moving a minute or two later
6. It sounds like it’s in neutral when accelerating / revving
7. I turn off engine off and turn it back and car won’t even turn over.
8. Electrics still work.
9. I leave it for a couple of hours
10. It starts perfectly
11. I drive for 5- 10 mins and then it cuts out again.... EVERY TIME.

• I have replaced the below to no avail.

1. THERMOSTAT HOUSING
2. CRANKSHAFT SENSOR
3. BATTERY
