checked that too it isnt much it was pretty hard to move.

what gets me is it only makes the sound at idle and when you blip the throttle (which makes it louder) then after the blip it doesnt exist (like if you hold the RPM's as a contsant speed)

 

Ya, makes it hard cuz you are dbw and cant play with the throtle while looking under the hood. A friend of mine had a ringing/rattling noise only right when hitting the gas like you are describing and the noise was coming from the turbo area. I think the problem had something to do with the wastegate or his turbo was dying.. i never found out what happend.

 

I think I found it... I found that my diverter valve (metal evolution motorsports) was rubbing against something. their is a big gouge on the diverter valve went through the black paint. once i removed the diverter valve and replaced it with a stock one the sound stopped (for now). I hope it is as simple as this and i dont have to do anything else. Also I think why it started doing this is because I just installed the neuspeed xtream TIP which moves and streaches a lot tof the stock lines connecting to the TIP.

i will keep you guys posted to see if the noise comes back...

My car makes a couple weird noises every now and then, I don't really pay much attention to it, I mean afterall.. It's a 01' 6 yr old car.. It's bound to make a few noises every now and then.

Like upon a FAST acceleration, like flooring the car.. It makes a weird humming/buzzing noise for about two seconds the just stops and drives smoothly as usual. That is about it..
