how to change oil
The bigger filter is only needed on 1.8T w/ the sludging issue.
I would use anything but the generics..
I have a 1.8T and I use Amsoil.. im at 5w-30.. but i need a heavier operating temp weight.... im switching to 5w-40 next oil change.
oils not the main factor if you dont race... as long as you have some oil in there... if you live in a colder temperature you may want 0W... but I mean COLD... otherwise a 5w-40. will do just fine.
When we changed my oil we had a hell of a time getting the oil drain plug out... it was torqued in there good

so for 35.21400 USD you can have them change your oil with some fully synthetic oil (what brand/weight?)
How much does oil cost ? 6$/qrt (at the high end for amsoil.. thats 30$ for oil (5 quarts , i buy extra to prefill the filter) and the filter doesnt cost much 5 $?
so for 35$ you can have the shop do it (not including tax) or you can do it yourself w/ quality products.

I just changed my oil last weekend. it is super easy even for the first time. just watch out for when you take out the plug it shoots out far so position the oil pan in the correct place. other than that it take like 15-20 min.
