How much should I pay for a timing belt change?

I am doing my own timing belt job because there is no way I am paying 600-700 bucks for someone else to do it!

Dealer labor is $120 per hour. Look for an independent shop.

hey since u live near chicago like me... look at renn-art they are i think 75 an hour and a good audi shop from wat i have heard they have there own little section on this site i will prob go get mine done there or see if it has been done i got my car with 69k and im at like 78500 right now sooo yea i gotta go check to see if it looks good or i need replacement gotta call renn art get an appointment set up!

Yeah, go to renn-art, I would guess like 800.

Your good to go until 100k. Dont fall for the hype. Your car has the updated tensioner, chances of it failing are extremely rare, the belt will last easy to 100k, so will the tensioner.

I got mines done at EuroCode Tuning, I'm sure you're all familiar with that place. I got it done at 79k miles, the entire job /w parts was $734.00 even. That was with EVERYTHING. All belts, water pump, rollers/tensioners, and everything. Labor was $80 an hour, and I paid for 4 hours of work.

There is a shop in Loves Park, IL called Autohaus. The mechanic is Tim and they'll do it for $600.
