I just used a flat black paint... it was VERY dull until I put the clearcoat on.

And to those of you who are thinking it only looks good on black -- you're wrong! flyinb has a silver car with the same mod... It just makes the grill look bigger and better! More agressive from a distance simply because the grill looks larger.

 

so u just painted the chrome lining around the grill? that looks nice i might have to try that on mine, i have a silver car tho, hope it dosent look bad

 

I love mine. I think it would look better black than chrome on any color car.

 

I think it looks better on flyinb's car than it does on mine. looks perfect.

Just the silver trim... it pops off and you can have your way with it! :P
