Default INNER tie rod ends???

anybody replaced theirs? after replacing my outers i've noticed that there is still a very slight clunking sound if you go over bumps at just the right speeds...i'm going to replace my inners and i'm really hoping it's as easy as doing the outers was....anybody have any tips for me?

Think it's the inners? Could it be your control arms?

how do you check if the control arms are busted? i also have the 'clunking' problem. i changed the tie rod ends but the clunking noise is still there when i go over bumps.

do you mean they only come with the whole tie rod assembly? if that's the case, that kinda sucks, cause i just spent a good amount of time and money into replacing my outers....i had my control arms checked a couple times but both mechanics told me they were fine....i have a feeling i may never find the root of this clunking....[:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]

I thought the inners were part of the rack.

Your mechanics probably gave the control arms a couple of twists to see how stable they were. Mine feel stable too when I try and twist them back and forth; however, the ball joints could still be jacked and you won't have much play with that twisting motion because the back end of the control arms with the bushings are still solid. After I replaced my outer tie rods, I compared the old and the new. The old ball joint was completely f'd. It felt all sloppy and loose when you wiggle it around. I'm positive my control arm ball joints are equally as bad. I have to replace my control arms sometime in the next 6 months. When I do and if my clunking is gone, I'll let you know.
