INSTALLING DROPIN K&N FILTER
yeah, like karlmax said unscrew those 2 and you should be able to open it. if you wanna take the whole thing off just the hoses in the front. btw, the long plastic intake on the top does come off.
alright i had the same problem... heres the solution, basically that hose thats running parallel to the seam of the air filter box, should unclip out of little holes and pull it up towards you. on that same line there should be a black little like 35mm fil canister looking thing attached to a hose that is right above the airbox if your looking straight in from the front of the car. unclamp the hoseclamp on the hose... (i just used needlenose pliars) but you can pry it up with anything like a knife or something. one the hose clamp is off... pull the hose off the black 35mm film canister looking thing. from there, unscrew the airbox, and you should be able to push the aibox open towards the engine. now remember that the k&n filter sits on the lip of the part of the airbox you moved and unscrewed... it took me a while to figure it out but make sure the ridge of the filter lines up with the lip on the air box... then hold it in place through the air inlet as you close the box and tighten and then put everything back together... see if that helps
id take pictures to help out but i cant get into my engine on account i hit a deer last night and fucked my car up

Hey guys, .. thanks for the tips. I tried everything you said, and sure as it is it worked out.
I finally got the K&N filter in the car and it wasn't too bad but it's not straight forward for any newbs like me.
Anyhow, i posted some pictures that most newbs would wanna ask .... it shows some of the instructions on the parts where i was lost or was stuck.
Cheers.. .. !!
2-5 HP ? ???? <-------- i seriously doubt it. But it's still good to know ... you don't have a paper filter........
Cheers boys...

1-3 hp gain, but if you can notice that... i dont know, your special or something... i have one in my car, i mean throttle response, maby a little. but what i also like about it is it makes the induction sound a little better and you can hear the DV slgithly better too which is cool. its just good to know you have something thats flowing pretty good in there when you up your boost
After looking for awhile on the net Ifound this link.

LOL! I about laughed my a$# off when i saw the post from ntalec (above me). That is usually the first place I look for good advice on diy's not to mention there are some other good links on here if you do a search. congrats on finally getting it done though. When i installed my cai, the hardest part was getting the old intake out. those things just require a little muscle and they come right out.
