Default Just bought a 2001 A4 2.8Q (Triptronic) 30v

Hey guys,

I just bought this 2001 A4 2.8Q (Triptronic) 30v with 56,000 miles on it.
The car was a lease and has had all the services records up to about 20,000
then nothing.
My question is what other than the regular 57,000 service should I have
done and or looked at? It runs great and shifts fine, but the susp is a
little loose in the rear. I was also told to replace the timing belt soon.
Any feed back would be greatly appreciated..

Timing belt is usually about 60 to 80K, but better safe than sorry. Do the water pump at the same time. If you've got a sunroof, put a little lithium grease on the tracks. Also change the fuel filter if it has not been done yet. That is often neglected at the dealer. Welcome to the forum.

ORIGINAL: CRAZYHAWK

Interior pollin filter shoud be changed at 60K.
He can do that himself for ~$15 and five minutes rather than give the stealership ~$75.

Welcome GsW! Check your control arms and their bushings. Of course a full brake inspection is worth the peace of mind, too.

Sorry CRAZYHAWK. I didn't mean to imply you were giving bad advice. I just wanted it to be known that it is an easy DIY.
No hard feelings to you.
Peace.

No hard feelings. I changed my pollin filter recently, after plugging it up with silicone spray. I squeaky vent fan. Turned out spraying with filter removed fixed the noise.

Default spraying silicone into fan housing...

You were able to get the spray into the fan housing from within the filter bay?

Interesting idea.
