K04 Turbo swap
i'm pretty sure that turbo timer, BOV and boost controller are not NECESSARY. they are good items to invest in but if you dont have the money at the time its not necessary.

Instead of the turbo timer just leave you car running for 2-3 minutes after hard driving or a long drive and I'm sure you'll live for a little bit with constant boost.

just to let u know, most of the time, when u have a stock turbo, since it has an internal wastegate, the boost controler won;t do sh*t, and the only way to control boost is through a new ecu. which apr or guac, or garret, or any of those companies do. the only way a boost controler would do u any good was if u had an external wastgate. and a bov, would be a good thing to have, since the bosch bov under the stock intercooler has its threshold as 15 psi, a new one would be useful, espesially since the bosch starts to leak at 11, which is why mine drops from 15 or 16 to about 11 or 10 while climbing rpm. Everytime i shift, i get the power back, but it falls back down.. The most overlooked part of all of this turbo stuff, is one major thing, if u truely want ur power, u will also need to get a new fuel pump, usually with the 1.8t audi and vw, as the psi climb, the presure triggers the computer to increase the fuel pump, only in cases of moded chiped ecus, and if the fuel pressure is not there, the ecu will try to back off on some of the air entering the engine. The way the engine knows, is from the throttle possition, psi, and the O2 sensors before and after the cat. using these sensors the computer trys to maintain all of the engine functions in check. This is why our cars have 20 some odd times as much technology on our cars than the space shuttle had when we were in the race to be in space... Funny huh...
I would suggest buying a full K04 kit. Without the proper programming and parts designed to work, the extra turbo will not provide much, if anything.

Places like AWE, Wetterauer, Neuspeed, and DSR sell full K04 kits which include everything you need in order to make the car work, and run properly, while taking advantage of the new turbo. They are priced very reasonabley, around $1500.

I suggest buying a 'kit' rather than trying to piece something together yourself.
