Default Limp Mode - 1997 A4 1.8t Quattro

Hello! I have a limp mode Quattro that I just bought today for my second car that I would like to fix. The person I bought it from only seemed to know what a Vag com was and not what it does. They also assumed that more liquid would fix anything. The cars gears are all highlighted on the dash. Car drives and reverses just fine. With that being said what are the possible problems? Trams flush needed, new trans, Codes wiped, new ECU, anything else? And what am I looking to pay if I would like it to be fixed, averagely? Please don't be mean or hateful, I understand what I bought and regardless what I pay I'll still love it.

Whoa, hang on.. I'm pretty certain a trans flush wouldn't fix your limp mode.

Can you go to the auto store and get the codes read for us? That's where we need to start..

It could be one of a couple things. When my car went limp it was a faulty MAF sensor. The CEL will tell us more.
