Went to start my car this morning and it ran very rough. I turned it off and restarted it, but it was the same and after giving it a minute, the CEL came on flashing. It definately feels like it's misfiring.

I got a ride to work from my roommate and I'm just thinking about what could be wrong. I'll scan it today with my VAG-COM after I duck out at lunch time.

Off the top of my head it could be the spark plugs, injectors,or possibly the cat is clogged. I have an extra set of BKR7E's I'll throw in just to be sure.

The same thing happened to me last week, cylinder 3 missfire with aflashing
CEL. The spark plug in #3 looked fouled, so I changed it. I also swapped
the coils in #3 and #2. It's running fine now.

 

Mine's doin tha same shii, rough idle but only in tha morning's when it's hella cold. And the RPM's fluctuate. At neutral, it reaches high RPM's of 1500 down to 600 and then dies. And my car is brand new! My CEL was on for system rich, but it turned off today by itself. I dont know whats wrong. But it kinda sounds the same but I doubt mine is the spark plugs.

 

Geezuz... Did I not suggest to you yesterday to get rid of your BOV???? Its not a joke. BOV's make you run rich and will foul your plugs real quick...

Baconbait-some people that run bkr7e's have misfire issues in very cold weather, especially on a cold start up. They just dont get hot enough tofully combust the fuel. Arif had that problem and i think he is using bkr6e for now with no problems.

 

Coil pack fixed it. I ended up not swapping the plugs yet. I'll try the bkr6e's tomorrow. Running a bunch of errands at the moment.
