Found a 2003 A4 1.8T with 38k; price in the low low 20's. Does anyone have any thoughts on this deal and the car itself? It came off a lease and is wicked immaculate. I've heard word about an oil sludge problem in the turbo and an issue with the ignition coils in the engine. Does anyone know if these problems, or any other problems, exist on this car? Thanks to all.

 

I have an 03 1.8T that I bought used off lease over a year ago - this is my second audi and have not had any problems - love it. Also sounds like a decent price. I haven't heard of either of the problems you mention (& haven't experienced them myself), but I imagine others on this forum more knowledgable will back that up.

Run a search on common problems as this question is asked daily.

Sludge if synthetic oil isn't used.
Occasional coil packs.
More common problems are front control arms wearing prematurely.
Dead pixels in the electronic display.
