Default New to Audi - Question

Hello Everyone. Just purchased my first Audi, it's an '03 A4 1.8T and I love it. I actually have a technical question - there seems to be a void space between where the coolant reservoir and Brake components are and streight to the left of the power steering fluid reservoir. It looks like there used to be some type of reservoir in the area but cannot tell what it was from the owner's manual. I want to be sure this is fine since all I see there is the funnel cup at the bottom where something sat at one point. Maybe someone has a more comprehensive picture/description of the engine bay and maybe send me a copy to look at all the parts that need to be there. The car runs fine but don't want to run to long if this is somehting critical. Any help would be appreciated - Thanks everyone!!!

How about taking a pic and posting it?
Here is a pic of an 03 engine in a passat... Same engine and main components all in the same place as yours (or where they SHOULD be.)

and this is an audi b6 (same as yours)

Directly behind the power steering fluid reservoir is the windshield washer fluid reservoir. To the left of this is the brake module and then the coolant reservoir.

Directly to the left of the power steering fluid reservoir is the vacuum pump for the brake system, according to my Bentley manual.

Here's the picture onepoint8tee posted, with some of the components labeled.

BTW, that black cover that surrounds the power steering reservoir and the vacuum pump isn't present on my car, IIRC.

Hey everyone,

Wow, many thanks for the replies guys, I really appreciate your help. Based on the information and pictures my car also does not have the cover that covers the PS fluid reservoir and the vacuum pump for brakes it looks that what I may be missing is the vacuum pump for the brakes. So far I have had no issues with the brakes and do not have any indicator letting me know there is anything wrong witht he brakes - what do you think I need to do? Do I need to get this? To be sure I will get a picture taken this afternoon and post it in a few hours so you guys can better tell me.

Thanks again.

Osmer

Hey everyone again,

Here is a pic I found online with a close-up - Yes the thing that is missing in my newly acquired car is the round grey thing right to the left of the ABS module. Please let me know if it is dangerous for me to be driving the car like this since it is part of the brking system. Thanks

Oz
