Oil change question...
OK, I have a 2001 B5 1.8TQM, and I have heard differing opinions on how often the oil needs to be changed. The only time I changed the oil since I got it, was after about 4000 - 4500 miles, but I have been told that these engines only need oil changes every 10000 miles. Is this true?
im no expert, but im almost positive that you need to do every 5000 miles or sooner, depending on how your driving the car. its such a cheap thing to do, its really no big deal, and not worth the risk.
this is possible with high grade synthetic long term oils mobile 1 0w30 but I personally don't like to go beyond 6k or less with a turbo "keep them right with regular oil and filter and they last longer" personal choice I suppose
Audi recommends 0w40 if you use mobil 1... or 5w40 Castrol Syntec is audi's recommended oil for our cars.
Changin your oil every 10K is stupid in a 1.8T with their known sludging issues. Most people on here use full synthetic, the upgraded capicity OEM filter, and change it every 3500 miles.
