I had the same problem getting my car threw inspection. a new abs module was like 300 bucks so i just waited till it went off and took it to the inspection station right quick. you can try taking the module off cleaning it and reseating it.

You might also check the seating and cleanliness of the abs sensors in each wheel bearing housing. One of mine got loose during a suspension install, and would trigger the ABS light.

or maybe you both shouldn't be asshats and actually fix it, since it is on for a reason.

No kiddin, just get the thing fixed.

I'm about to put my old B5 up for sale and I'm dropping close to 3k on maintenance to make sure i am selling a great car and have no guilt in trying to offload a car thats going to cost the new owner a fortune in hidden mechanical costs.

I'm not looking to make money off the car. The Timing belt is getting done, new control arms and a wheel bearing. All of which needed to be done to get the car up to spec. It's either do the work and get kbb value or take 3-5k less than blue book.

It's also getting a new coat of paint paid for by insurance since some jackass scratched the sides with some crap that was hanging off the trailer when they drove down the street.

The car will be 100% perfect both inside, outside and engine.
Having the issues it had/has would hinder any potential sale so fixing them is (hopefully) going to allow us to get rid of the car quicker. We have no place to store it

If it doesnt sell quickly or for a price we'd like its not that big of a deal, I'm sure we'll get use out of it during winter. Throw the wifes 20th a/e GTI in the back yard and she can use the quattro.
