Pulled my door panel off today because I had a blown speaker. Came to discover that my car uses 4 1/2 inch speakers, and they have a triangle bolt pattern instead of a square pattern.
Is there anywhere in the US where I can buy an adapter for these speakers?

Also, I went to buy a new set of 5 1/4 inch speakers to retrofit myself, but I was told that I could not replace the speakers without replacing the entire stereo. (I did explain to him that I did not have the bose system)
Is there any truth to this? How hard would it be to re-wire everything myself?

I tried that and did not find anything usefull...

 

the doors do have 5 1/4" speakers. maybe someone changed them out before and put 4 1/2 cuz they couldn't find a way to put 5 1/4's in the door. its a little tricky but can be done


o i jus noticed you didnt have bose so maybe urs aren't 5 1/4". you should be able to find an adapter for it pretty easy tho. try sounddomain or maybe egay
