AutoWeek tested the new Evo and STI. And i guess there is an intercooler spray button. They closely monitored gains while misting in different scenerios and they said they saw virtually no gains and that the mister was nothing more than a gimmic. But after reading all this I'm thinking about it myself...

 

Yeah, I'm not making it up. Like I said, my buddy who e-mailed me about this has been a powertrain engineer (MSME) for the last 33+ years for the performance division of one of the main auto manufactures. He's been the project engineer on cars that have run at Nurburing and then LeMans. He has driven the cars on both tracks, as well as others. Anyway, he got the thinking about my new 1.8T and the APR stage one I just had done. He passed along this cool little trick for a few more easy hp. Actually, on some of their test cars at the company track with either turbos or superchargers using intercoolers he's done a quick spray rig just as I/he described. Makes on hell of a difference, (when it's done right) and this guy's not prone to exaggeration..

BTW..we went to school together, I like my line of work but I always wanted his...LOL

 

I know a guy that has a CO2 fire extenguiser that he fires at his i/c right before a race. It does the terminator ice thing to it. he sees maybe .1 to .2 off 1/4.
