Wow.... Such a hostile thread.... I thought this was gunna be another turbonator thing, but it sorta makes sense. Except i dont get how your gunna get the added fuel/air/timing to go along with the boost... But, I didnt read into it in depth, cuz i really just dont give a ****.

i thought this was like a 2nd turbo for super power haha its basically moving the turbo to a diff place cuz ur car's not built to handle a turbo ... woopdeedoo

there's a lincoln towncar on the block that might need it

and the testimonials here sound like an infomercial about ***** enlargement "omg the gains were amazing"

Everyone was skeptical about rear mount turbos when they first came out. Mostly because of the lag everyone believed you would have. But the truth is they work well. I'm not sure about how much lag is actually experienced but it would depend on the engine, the exhaust, and the turbo. But from what I've heard the lag really isn't much. And people are able to run smaller turbos then it would normally require if it was on the exhaust manifold.
If you put a remote mount turbo on a four cylinder car, you would be a complete f*cking dumb*ss that deserves to be shot. It would have so much lag, unless you put a small gt16 series turbo, which would actually probably restrict your flow uptop.

And what is this bullshit of being able to run smaller turbos? They run smaller turbos to make it reliable. Not because they are as good as true custom turbo kits. Look at the power those cars are making and look at the power basic custom turbo kits make on the same cars, there is no comparison.

The reason that the lag is minimal, is because they put a turbo the size of a k04 on a 5.7 liter v8. That thing would be making full boost at idle!

This is because it is not in the middle of an extremely hot engine bay and getting HOT air right off the engine. And the piping going back up to the intake helps cool the air too.
How does the air going through the turbine side of the turbo being 100 degrees cooler allow for these kits to run smaller turbos? That has got to be the stupidest f*cking thing I have heard in a while. The compressor side of the turbo really doesn't get very hot, at least not on my garrett. When the car is running, I can hold my hand on it. So obviously almost none of the heat is transferred from the turbine housing to the compressor housing.

OMFG!......I'm sorry but some people just need to be taken out and have the sh*t beat out of them.
Where did I say anything about running a remote mount turbo on a 4 cylinder engine? I don't believe you would ever have to unless you have the smallest engine bay in the world. And even so, if someone did do it and it produced very good results would you still need to shoot them?

If your turbo stays so cool why don't you go do some spirited driving for an hour then put your hand on it? I know mine gets RED hot. No thanks.

Even on a smaller engine you would still not have much more lag then a turbo on the exhaust manifold. It's not like you lose any of that exhaust before it gets to the muffler. You just have to wait a tiny bit longer for it to get there.

If heat wasn't a problem why are there heat shield in our engine bays around the turbo?

I'm not going to comment any more on the size of the turbos used because I would have to do more research before having a factual answer.

+1... It really surprises me how people with no 1st hand experience with a product can sound like such an expert on it.
