unless it was warranty and Audi them selves replaced the engine it's VERY unlikely it is a brand new, never used engine. even insurance makes them used reconditioned engines. If they paid out of pocket I REALLY doubt it was brand new. It can be a rebuilt used engine and it's as good as new anyway

 

Sorry guys if I wasn't clear, the installed engine now has 7-10k miles on it. I'm not sure whether it was a new or rebuilt engine but I'll find out. Inspection of car will hopefully happen tomorrow, I feel good about this one.
