Default Spark Plug Gap w/PC-16?

Jut wondering what it should be. I have the NGK BKR7E's that I just put in today. I have seen on the forums to have them around .028 but when I called Jeff at Torque Factory he said to gap them at stock which is .030 so thats what I did. Is that right?

The stock gap is .032 and for a chipped car is .028. I would go with a .028. Running .030 you may run a risk of blowing out the spark.

But he is Jeff Moss and im nobody

They are the same upgrade but many different questions. This way it's much easier for people to search in the future about it instead of having to go through 5+ pages of posts in 1 thread.

Cincy, if the spark is being blown out will I get a misfire? If so then if I start getting misfires I will close the gap down.

i was told to gap them to .28 when i was thinkin of going pc-16. and if you get a misfire with pc-16 it isn't necessarily the spark plug gap, could be caused by coil packs, icm, etc...

Seriously.... If youre going to start a thread about 4 different things, keep those 4 different things in one thread. .028 or .030, youre not going to notice a difference. Just not .032.

Yes, blowing out the spark will cause a misfire, hesitation, and powerloss.

Spark Plugs
[ul]
OE Plugs: NGK PFR6Q - .032" gap[/ul]
[ul]
For Stock Cars - .032" gap:[*]NGK BKR6E[*]Autolite 3923[*]Denso Iridium IK20[/ul]

For Chiped Cars - .028" gap:
[ul][*]NGK BKR7E[*]Autolite 3922[*]Denso Iridium IK22 [/ul]General Rule of thumb: For every additional 50HP over stock, a general rule is 1 heat range colder and gap shrinks by .004
--So, a chipped 1.8T would make good use of a plug one range colder gapped to .028

this is a mod thing so I cant help but one thing I will say is ( don't try to gap iridium plugs ) they are preset and any attempt to re-gap them will render your engine to the breakers yard because it weakens the earth/ground rod on the plug and it burns out,
plenty of sites that will explain this in detail and this is just one
