start up

so when you start up your car, do you guys have a light that flashes service and then goes away a few seconds later just like the battery light and stuff how it flashes and goes away.

There is a procedure to reset it. Its just to remind you for service/oil change every 3k miles i think. Search "reseting service light"

ok how do you reset it. i searched and i did what i found

put key in ignition
push and hold odometer button
turn to first click
push or pull (i did both) the clock reset button
turn ignition off.

i did it about 10 times and it did not work. so how do i reset it

What year is your car? If it's a 97 or older that won't work - you need a vag-com to reset it.

actually i got it to work. you dont need a vagcom. you push in the odometer button. then put the car on but not start it and then push and hold the clock reset button at the same time and it resets.

Onepoint8tee.....I have two lights that come on....one that says oil, and then a seperate one that says service. The oil comes on every 5000, and I don't know how often the service one comes on since I have only had it come on once. Is there a service he should be looking into performing since that light came on?
