yeah its a valve tap. If you ever hear an old Honda they have it too.

 

noraml its the thing on top of the airbox that ticks

 

its loud and it dosent do it at idle, its on acceleration and its intermitant.. sounds like an eghuast leak but it comes and goes

 

Did you just rebuild or replaceyour head? Maybe it is an exhaust leak.

 

I have not done anything with the head yet, this just started.. and i swear every time someone is around it wont make it so i cant get under the hood to rev it up.. it comes and goes with no rhym or reason.. today it started right after the car misfired or stumbled its really hard to tell where its coming from.. and at idle i cant hear anything over my injectors

 

its been on and off for about 2 weeks now

 

Maybe it's a valve in the head.

 

its posible i guess, if it was an intake valve that would tick under load or under boost, but dosent really explain why it would be intermitant.. and i would think it would tick under idle
