Hate to say this but, you have to remove the front bumper cover to get the headlamp assy out. Removing the bumper isn't THAT big of a job provided you have some sort of service manual or have done it before. About half a dozen T30 bolts and a couple of 10mm nuts just forward of the inner fender liners (held in with T25 screws). Also the two "hidden" ones next to each headlight that you need a long bit to get at. They only need to be loosened some, the cover is slotted and these are for adjusting the fit of the cover to the headlight. Technically, you don't need to completley remove the bumper cover, only need to undo it enough to move out of the way on the one side.
Side note: If it's only the headlamp adjusting motor that has failed, they're available separately. You don't need to replace the entire headlight.

It doesn't really bother me is there any way I could just get the light to stop flashing on my display without fixing the headlight?

Not sure if you can or not. There may be a way to code all the relevant modules to regular halogen headlights that don't adjust which would then have no warning message displayed. Never have tried it plus the legal concerns. It is possible that coding the instrument cluster only would work(?) In the end though, probably cost less to do the actual repair. Of course, you'd need to do a scan to get the specific fault code to narrow in on what's actually wrong like the adjusting motor itself or the headlamp module (attached to the light assy), a wiring problem, etc....
Isn't modern technology grand?
