Valves or lifters making noises?
yea i know what is an EGR valve im confused it sounds familiar. Today i added some of that Engine Restore oil into my car my friend said it helped him so i went and bought it. Its a blue liquid thats supposed to help with the knocking. But any other ideas can still be used so if any one else knows anything about this i need all the help i can get.
EGR= Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve
It's parts of the emission system. It allows the car to recirculate some of the exhaust gas to burn off unused feul in the exhaust thereby helping to create cleaner emissions. The exhaust gas is also used to help eliminate engine knock by reducing the cylinder temperature to prevent earlier detonation, otherwise known as "knock". A poorly functioning EGR valve doesn't allow the proper amount of exhaust back into the cylinder.

This isn't engine knock. Engine knock occurs under load. Sounds like you are complaining of valve/lifter noise.
Check oil pressure. Depending on where you live, run synthetic 5W/40 oil. Change your oil at most every 5K miles

Engine knock most commonly occurs under 'moderate' load but can happen at any time. Valves or lifter noise after running the car at high rpm - sustained 6k per post - can cause excesive heat and may indeed cause engine knock.
