So my fuel pump started to make a lot of noise starting a few months ago. I recently had it replaced under my aftermarket warranty.
Now, my injection pump is going bad and making lots of noise.
For some reason my warranty company is claiming that since it is only making noise, it isn't going bad. I explained how the fuel pump had been making noise too, and it was replaced with no problem. I asked them if they just wanted me to wait until the part breaks, so I can be stranded.
They are sending an "inspector" to the dealership to look at the car on the warranty company's behalf.
I don't understand how a part making the noise that I am hearing, would not be considered "mechanical failure."

Injection pump?? Is your car a diesel?
hmm, so that's why nobody answered me, my question doesn't make sense.
i don't know too much technical stuff about our cars, so i guess that's why i just believed him when he said that's what the problem was.
the audi dealer i have been going to near my college has totally screwed me over every time. They either charge me more than they are supposed to, or tell me the problem is something else. The guy that I talk to there is an idiot. He definitely told me it was my "injection pump" that was making the noise.
even more ridiculous, they told me just to come pick up the car, because there was no reason for it to stay there if they were not going to fix it. So i went in today to pick up the car, and the car wasn't making any noise.
Weird.

Well now that we got that crap out of the way
By the looks of it you have a B6, now the fuel pumps on those have been known to go bad
you say it was already replaced some time ago
Is the car making the same noise now as when the fuel pump was going bad?
I have changed way too many fuel filters because they make an unbearable moaning noise, so i would start there

RE: Warranty company won't cover injection pump...
odd sort of thread but I see whats going on, is it a diesel (after checking his/her posts its gas) so no injection pump "did they change the pump" have you checked?? and since there is no noise now I think they screwed up because they didn't know what they were talking about and told you to pick the motor up to cover their shame

yeah, sorry guys.
i know people are talking about these forums goin' downhill and i certainly don't want to put up posts that perpetuate that sentiment. i was just kinda pissed and confused at the way the dealership treated this issue, and every other issue i have had when i took my car in. when i picked up my car, when they refused to operate on it, the noise was gone. so i really don't know what's going on.
anyway, thanks for not being too hard on me for asking a silly question.

Maybe they were talking about the secondary air pump. I had one on another car that did the same thing and it was called a air injector pump. I dont know if the B6's have this part or not??? But I know that this part will make a noise when you start it up when its going bad.
