2004 a6 4.2L sedan cold start issues
I am seeking for guidance on cold start issues that i had today with my a6, never had this problem since the last 6 yrs that i have owned the car, the temp in the valley was 38 unusually cold but i have seen colder temp not causing any starting issues...
She would crank but not start, i had to give it half a dozen tries with a gentle throttle thrust and it started with rough idling but settled once it heated up should i be concerned ??

If you're currently up on all maintenance, all fluid levels are normal, there are no unusual noises when the engine is running and there is no MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light) I would not be overly concened unless the issue reoccurrs. There are a multitude of reasons that could have caused a hard start issue. Anything from water getting into the fuel, low fuel pressure, irregular spark, etc. The list goes on and on. Again, if it only happened once and does not become a regular thing I would just drive the car...just don't neglect this. If it happens again you may want to have a shop check things over.
