2006 A-6 Starting problem
After having family and friends driving Audi's and loving them, we decided we would try an Audi for our next car. We found a clean 2006 A-6 Wagon with 75,000 miles and purchased it in August 2013. Have enjoyed the car until it would not start, battery was charged lights worked no clicking. Had the car towed to a local shop cleared all of the codes and the car started. The auto shop really did not understand or know what was wrong and recommended we take it to the dealer. The dealer said it may be the key fob the first day, the second day they said we should replace the steering column at a cost of 2000.00 but are not sure this will fix our problem. Does anyone have any ideas here?
Thanks

After having a similar problem with intermittent starting problems. I suggest you either find a friendly assistant with a Ross Tech VCDS unit or buy one yourself. I had a similar problem with my 2006 3LT Multitronic. The starting problem turned out to be the Gearbox ECU. A stearing angle sensor fault did come up during the testing.
I assure you without a unit and or a trained friend you will be spending cash.
I purchased my own just recently and it has saved me 3 times what it cost so far.
