Default 4.2 Engine Replacement

I have a 2000 A6 Quattro with a toasted 4.2 I'm looking into getting another engine and swapping in. I had some shops quote the motor swap and its more than I have to spend. I've done several engine replacements and swaps with domestic vechiles as well as a subaru. I don't have much experience with an Audi though and was wondering if it was Avery difficult job. I know it is very very time consuming but is there anything particularly technical that I need to know about. Also are there any special Audi tools ill need forthwith job? Thanks for everyone's help in advance. Oh its an automatic with Von number "L".

SHould be, as you have predicted, time consuming but not difficult. Well, not TOO difficult. You will need the triple square wrenches, bandages and a lot of patience.

Good luck,

Bob

Thanks for the reply. Is there any Audi book that would be useful? Any tools other than the triple square wrenches and what size triple squares?
