7 GRAND to replace my K03's???
Does that sound insanely high? Or is that about right?
A local Audi dealership, which previously saved me $600 on my timing belt job, so I thought they'd be reasonable...
They quoted me 2400 for parts, and 40 hours of labor at 115/hr. for a grand total of 7000!!!
I haven't called any other indy shops, but wow, that sounds like alot!!
It's just so hard to find a good indy shop that is trustworthy. i've had a bad experience with a shop that came HIGHLY reommended.
There's nothing wrong with my turbos, I just wanted to get an estimate so I can prepare for when and if the time comes...
Thanks!
Jeremy

way too much
my shop quoted me 16-20 hours for K04 upgrade a while back! 40 hours!!!! Also you can find a shop wth lower grly rates. Mine charges 70 and can get a KO4 for little more than a grand!
where are you located? Someone here who lives near you may be able to suggest a good cheaper shop

Well that's good to hear! I had been thinking more along the lines of 3-4K, so I was shocked to hear 7K!!
I'm trying to reach out to local Audi owners to see where they take their cars for big jobs. I'd been to one "reputable" shop that's been in business for 35 years, always has a parking lot full of Audi's, S models, etc. Then I brought my car in for a brake pad light, and they told me it had just come disconnected and they charged me $70 to fix it. Come to find out they cut both the wires and I actually had less than 3 mm left on each of my fronts!!!!!!!!!! WTF!! SO much for reliable shops.
I'm obviously going to keep asking around, and I'm 30 min. north of boston right on the NH line...

"Audi's" labor rate schedule, or someone else's?
I'll definitely be making some more phone calls though. I just don't want it to fall into disreputable hands because they have a good price...
