I just bought a 2000 A6 4.2 with 135,000 miles on it. I have been told that the transmissions on these 4.2's are prone to overheating and failing. I have looked all over the place but can't find anything in print that will help me maintain it and stop it from failing. Is there anyone out there with some advice or experience or is this just a wise tale??
